Dinotefuran is a neonicotinoid insecticide developed by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. of Japan. Its core chemical structure differs significantly from existing neonicotinoid insecticides, primarily in that a tetrahydrofuranyl group replaces a chloropyridyl or chlorothiazolyl group, and it contains no halogen elements. Dinotefuran possesses contact, stomach, and root-systemic properties, and is highly effective against piercing-sucking pests (such as aphids and planthoppers) as well as coleoptera and dipteran pests, with a long-lasting effect of up to 3-4 weeks.
