Uses
This fluorinated pyrazole insecticide is a broad-spectrum insecticide with high activity and a wide range of applications. It is highly sensitive to pests of the Hemiptera, Thysanoptera, Coleoptera, and Lepidoptera orders, as well as to pests resistant to pyrethroids and carbamates. It can be used in rice, cotton, vegetables, soybeans, rapeseed, tobacco, potatoes, tea, sorghum, corn, fruit trees, forestry, public health, and animal husbandry. It controls rice borers, brown planthoppers, rice weevils, cotton bollworms, armyworms, diamondback moths, cabbage loopers, cabbage armyworms, beetles, cutworms, bulb nematodes, caterpillars, fruit tree mosquitoes, wheat aphids, coccidia, and trichomonas. The recommended dosage is 12.5-150g/hm². Field trials on rice and vegetables have been approved in my country. Formulations include a 5% suspension concentrate and a 0.3% granular formulation.
Banned
my country banned the use of fipronil starting October 1, 2009. Although highly effective against rice stem borers and leaf rollers, fipronil is extremely environmentally unfriendly, impacting butterflies and dragonflies around crops. This is why the government has decided to ban it. It should only be used against household pests.
Usage
Fipronil has a broad insecticide spectrum, with contact, stomach, and moderate systemic effects. It controls both underground and aboveground pests. It can be used for foliage, soil, and seed treatments. A foliar spray of 25-50g of active ingredient/hectare is effective against potato beetles, diamondback moths, cabbage loopers, Mexican boll weevils, and flower thrips. In rice fields, 50-100g of active ingredient/hectare is effective against stem borers and brown planthoppers. A foliar spray of 6-15g of active ingredient/hectare is effective against locusts and desert locusts in grasslands. Applying 100-150g of active ingredient/hectare to the soil effectively controls corn root beetles, wireworms, and cutworms. Treating corn seeds with 250-650g of active ingredient/100kg of seed effectively controls wireworms and cutworms. This product primarily controls pests such as aphids, leafhoppers, lepidopteran larvae, flies, and coleoptera. It is recommended by many pesticide experts as a preferred alternative to highly toxic organophosphorus pesticides.

First Aid Measures
Inhalation: If inhaled, move victim to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Consult a physician.
Skin Contact: Wash with soap and plenty of water. Immediately seek medical attention. Consult a physician.
Eye Contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician.
Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. Consult a physician.

Exposure Controls and Personal Protection
Exposure Controls: Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Wash hands immediately before and after handling this product.
Eye/Face Protection: Use eye protection tested and approved to official standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN166 (EU) for face shields and safety glasses.
Skin Protection: Gloves must be inspected before use. Remove gloves using an appropriate method (do not touch the outer surface of the gloves) and avoid contact of any part of the skin with this product. After use, dispose of contaminated gloves carefully according to applicable laws and regulations and valid laboratory procedures. Wash and dry hands. The selected protective gloves must comply with EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the derived standard EN376.
Body Protection: Wear a complete set of chemical-resistant workwear. The type of protective equipment should be selected based on the concentration and amount of the hazardous substance in the specific workplace.
Respiratory Protection: If the risk assessment indicates the use of an air-purifying respirator, use a full-face, multi-purpose particulate respirator type N99 (US) or a type P2 (EN143) respirator cartridge as a backup to engineering controls. If a respirator is the only form of protection, use a full-face, air-purifying respirator. Use respirators and components that have been tested and approved by government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).
